Two New Quilts

**The Brown Needle is now Sewlio. As of 5/1/13, all new blog posts can be found at www.sewliodesigns.com . Hope to see you there!**

January was a busy month. It's hard to believe we're well into February. Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I haven't even began my V-Day projects!

Here's a peek into what I've been up to.

This is a baby quilt I did for a friend. I used one Little Apples charm pack for the front and this pattern. The pattern called for two charm packs and makes a slightly larger quilt. Since I like my baby quilts to measure 36x36, I was able to gey away with using only one. I really like the way this one turned out.

I did learn a very valuable lesson while making this quilt. It's difficult to see blueberries on an espresso colored table. Oh, and blueberries stain quilts if you lay them on top of said blueberries, then smash your quilt into them becuase you can't figure out what could possibly be making that bump under your quilt.  :(

My next finished "quilt" is not your typical quilt. It's a super mini quilt! This is a magnet that I made for the STLMQG's Itty Bitty Magnet Swap! This was fun to make. I used my newest additions to my stash family for this- Aunt Enda from DS Quilts at Joanns. I'm absolutely in love with that line! And it count's as a completed quilt, right?

Next up is the Block I made for the Redbird Bee that began in January. This is the first time I've ever done a bee. I had fun making this block for Gina and can't wait to see what we're going to do next!

  2. Cute baby quilt! I just printed off this pattern to make but only have one charm pack nice to know it can be made with just one. I like mine a little smaller too. For some reason I can't see the magnet but will see it in person on Saturday.

  3. The baby quilt is beautiful, Kyndra. The itty bitty magnet very cool. And that mosaic tree block? Well, let's just say that I am thrilled to know it's coming my way. I adore it!
